This interior green wall was designed as a living laboratory within the Agriculture classroom at Nuestra Escuela. The installation transforms an unused vertical surface into a dynamic teaching tool, combining lush tropical foliage on the upper half with a curated selection of local botanical herbs below—mejorana, anís, árnica, flor de tilo, among others. The modular system incorporates integrated irrigation and carefully oriented plantings to take advantage of abundant natural light from adjacent windows. Beyond its aesthetic and environmental benefits, the wall supports hands-on learning: students harvest leaves and cuttings to explore traditional remedies and plant propagation techniques. Estudio Pérez Santiago led the design, plant selection, installation, and maintenance strategy, reflecting our commitment to educational landscapes that connect people with culture, ecology, and health.
